FAQ

  • Is online therapy as effective as in-person therapy?

Research consistently shows that telehealth therapy is just as effective as in-person care for conditions like OCD, anxiety, trauma, and depression. Many clients appreciate the comfort, convenience, and accessibility of meeting from home.

  • What can I expect during my first therapy session?

Your first session is a gentle introduction where we explore what brings you to therapy, your goals, and any immediate concerns. I’ll walk you through the therapeutic process, answer questions, and begin creating a plan tailored to your needs. You’re never expected to share more than you’re ready for.

  • Do you offer telehealth therapy in my state?

I provide secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth therapy to clients located in Washington and Nevada. If you reside in either state, you’re welcome to begin therapy with me from the comfort of your home.

  • How do I know which therapeutic approach is right for me?

You don’t need to know that in advance. I integrate modalities such as Family Systems, Attachment, Narrative, Existential, DBT, CBT, Trauma-Informed Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and ERP based on what aligns best with your goals, history, and preferences.

  • How long does therapy usually last?

The length of therapy varies depending on your goals and the concerns you’re addressing. Some clients work with me short-term for targeted support, while others prefer longer-term therapy for deeper healing and personal growth. We’ll decide together what feels right for you.

  • Do you assign homework or practices between sessions?

If it feels supportive, yes. Some modalities — like CBT, DBT, and ERP — may involve optional practices between sessions to reinforce your progress. We decide together what’s helpful and what’s not.

  • How do I get started?

You can begin by reaching out through my contact form or booking a consultation. I’m happy to answer questions and help you determine whether we’re a good fit for working together.

  • What if I’m not sure whether therapy is right for me?

It’s completely normal to feel uncertain about starting therapy. Many clients begin with mixed feelings or questions about whether their struggles are “big enough” or if therapy will help. Our work together can start with simply exploring what you’re experiencing, what you hope might change, and what support could look like for you. There’s no pressure or expectation — therapy can be a space to figure things out at your own pace.
