FAQ

  • Do you offer telehealth therapy in my state?

I am licensed to provide secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth therapy to adults located in Nevada (LMFT #4377) and Washington (LMHC #LH61374114). I serve clients across both states — including Reno, Las Vegas, Henderson, and Carson City in Nevada, and Seattle, Spokane, Tacoma, and Bellevue in Washington. If you live anywhere in either state, you're welcome to work with me from the comfort of your home.

  • Do you accept insurance?

Yes. I am partnered with Aetna, Optum, United Healthcare, and UMR. If you have a different insurance plan, I can provide a superbill so you can submit for out-of-network reimbursement — though reimbursement is not guaranteed. I strongly recommend calling your insurance provider before your first session to ask about your out-of-network mental health benefits.

  • How much does therapy cost?

    - Intake Evaluation: $160

    - Individual Therapy Session: $160

    - Free 15-Minute Consultation: Available to all new clients at no charge

In accordance with the No Surprises Act, I provide a Good Faith Estimate to all clients who do not use insurance.

  • Is online therapy as effective as in-person therapy?

Yes. Research consistently shows that telehealth therapy is just as effective as in-person care for conditions like OCD, anxiety, trauma, and depression. Evidence-based treatments including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) have all been shown to work effectively via video. Many clients find that starting from the comfort of their own home actually makes it easier to open up and engage in the work.

  • What do you specialize in?

I specialize in trauma, OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder), and anxiety for adults. I also work with depression, grief, life transitions, burnout, relationship issues, self-esteem, perfectionism, attachment issues, and boundary-setting. My therapeutic approach draws from Family Systems, Attachment Theory, Narrative Therapy, CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).

  • What can I expect during my first therapy session?

Your first session is a gentle introduction. I'll take time to get to know you — not just the problem that brings you in, but you as a whole person. I'll ask questions, but you always control how much and when you share. There is no pressure to dive into anything you're not ready for. After a few sessions of getting to know each other, we'll develop goals that are authentic to your life and your vision for therapy.

  • How long does therapy usually last?

The length of therapy varies depending on your goals and what you're working through. Some clients work with me short-term for focused support around a specific issue, while others prefer longer-term therapy for deeper healing and growth. We'll decide together what makes sense for you — and you can always revisit that as things evolve.

  • How do I know which therapeutic approach is right for me?

You don't need to know that before we start. I integrate different approaches based on what fits your goals, history, and preferences. I'll help guide that process. What matters most going in is simply that you're open to exploring — we'll figure out the rest together.

  • Do you assign homework between sessions?

If it feels helpful, yes. Some modalities — like CBT, DBT, and ERP — may involve optional practices between sessions to reinforce your progress. We decide together what's useful and what isn't. Nothing is mandatory, but many clients find that the work between sessions is where lasting change really takes hold.

  • What if I'm not sure whether therapy is right for me?

It's completely normal to feel uncertain about starting. Many people wonder whether their struggles are "big enough" or whether therapy will actually help. Our work together can begin with simply exploring what you're experiencing, what you hope might change, and what support could look like for you. There's no pressure or expectation — and a free 15-minute consultation is a low-stakes way to ask questions and see how it feels before committing to anything.

  • How do I get started?

The easiest first step is booking a free 15-minute consultation call. It's a no-pressure conversation where you can ask questions and we can both get a sense of whether working together is a good fit. You can reach out through my contact form.
